Things to do in Windermere in September 2018
The days may soon be getting shorter, but there are still lots of things to do in Windermere in September.
Swimming in Windermere
Temperatures in the water normally start to drop, but there’s been a run of unprecedented good weather this year. As such there’s still no better place in the UK to go wild swimming than in the Lake District. There’s an annual Windermere Wild Swim event Bank Holiday August. Alternatively the 11 miles “Windermere One Way” takes place a week later on the 2nd September.

Windermere Dragon Boat Race

The annual event raises money for cancer charity Paddlers for Life. The sailing regatta on Lake Windermere is quite different to other sailing events in the Lake District. Comedy Nights in Windermere
Local comedian and writer John Lebbon host his regular comedy nights in Windermere at the Laundrama. The Old Laundry Theatre has held nights with a whole host of comedians over the years. So you never know who you might get to see perform. It could be a household name or comedies next big performer.
Either way, you will find something to laugh about as the nights have 3 comedians to choose from, catering for all tastes. Talking catering, food is available from 7.30pm so you can eat while you take in the acts. Murder Mystery nights in Windermere
