With the UK starting to re-open, a summer 2021 staycation in Windermere is certainly one we can’t wait to experience. After all, our hot tub spa suites were understandably required to remain closed for much of last year.

Things to do Summer 2021 in Windemere
When it came to things to do last summer in Windermere and the Lake District, many regular events were cancelled altogether. Whereas in the build-up to summer 2021 things are starting to look a lot more positive.
Great North Swim 2021
Ok, so it’s actually next month so not technically summer. However, with the John West Great North Swim on track for Friday 11th June to Sunday 13th June, it’s a big date on the Windermere sporting calendar. One in which competitors take part in an exciting open water event, with many guests rewarding themselves with a hot tub spa suite to celebrate.
Lake Windermere Triathlon
Another one for the athletes out there is the Lake Windermere Triathlon, combining swimming, cycling and running. As it stands, the event is also set to go ahead as planned. If you’re looking to book a spa package break to help you recover, then book the weekend of the 3rd and 4th of July.
Great British Food Festival 2021
Less than an hour drive from Windermere and you indulge in one of the most popular food festivals of the year. Also taking place over the 3rd and 4th July, within the stunning grounds of the impressive Lowther Castle.
Lake District Summer Music 2021
Just announced is the annual Lake District Summer Music Festival. A week-long series of concerts and events during the 1st week of August. There’s often a large focus on classical music, but this year also embraces everything from Balkan Folk to art installations. As well as drama workshops and stage productions.
Kendal Calling 2021
While the nearby Kendal Calling Festival has already sold out, maybe you’ve been lucky enough to already have your tickets? In which case, while you’re partying the weekend away in a muddy field, how about extending your stay with a hot tub spa suite in Windermere?
Bowness Bay Blues Weekend
If it’s something a little more low-key you’re after, there’s always the ever-popular Bowness Bay Blues Weekend. Currently scheduled for 13th to 15th August 2021, with reduced capacity in the event of further social distancing restrictions.
Outdoor Attractions, Parks and Gardens
Then, of course, there’s always the regular Windermere attractions. Where the likes of Brockhole Visitor Centre and Lakeland Farm are already accepting guests. As well as those a little further afield in Muncaster Castle, Carisbrooke Castle and Holker Hall.
