While staying in the Lake District, why not enjoy a day out at Keswick? Where there’s an array of attractions, festivals and other things to do in the surrounding areas.

Keswick Launch Company

As well as the likes of Windermere Lake Cruises and Steam Yacht Gondola, the Keswick Launch is a chance to enjoy a personal experience. With river cruises and private boat hire available for special occasions and events.

Keswick Pencil Museum

It may have a slight niche appeal, but this intriguing museum is one of the most popular things to do in Keswick. As well as holding a world record for the largest pencil in the world, the Lake District museum also gives an insight into days gone by. With a particular focus on Keswick’s graphite mining industry.

Theatre by the Lake

During a spa break in the Lake District, you’ll no doubt be wanting to enjoy a night out. If you fancy something different to a pint down the local pub, Theatre by the Lake has a series of live performances and theatre productions. What’s more, it’s set in a wonderful location on the banks of Derwentwater.

Castlerigg Stone Circle

With the start of Spring, the Castlerigg Stone Circle is likely to get busy during the course of the March Equinox. In particular due to its mystical origins, often celebrated by Pagan rituals and celebrations. If you’re interested in heritage sites such as Stonehenge, then Castlerigg should certainly be on your list of things to do in Keswick.

Keswick Film Festival

If you’re already ready planning your spa break in the Lake District for next year, the Keswick Film Festival takes place the end of February. The annual event has gained vast popularity in the world of the big screen.

Jazz and Blues Festival

Billed as one of the biggest jazz and blues gatherings in the UK, the festival runs from 7th May to 10th May 2020. You can buy day tickets or pick up an online pass via the festivals official website. Likewise, check the listings for a full breakdown of performers and further details.

Keswick Mountain Festival

This is a chance to embrace the great outdoors, whether that be as a participant or spectator. With events ranging from fell-running and guided walks, to live music, inspirational speakers and extreme sports such as mountaineering. The festival takes place from 15th May to 17th May 2020.

Midsummer Festival

In order to celebrate the summer months, the market square hosts 3 separate events across the weekend of 26th June 2020. Local rock and pop bands will be performing on Friday, with the Saturday being geared towards classical.
