Things to do in Spring in the Lake District

While it’s not quite Spring in the Lake District, it does mean there’s plenty of time to start planning a package break in Windermere. After all, as January payday has finally arrived, we can treat ourselves to something to look forward to in the coming months.

Things to do in Spring in the Lake District

Given there are 3 bank holiday weekends in Spring, most of us can take advantage of the additional days off work. However, if you’re in a position that doesn’t allow such things, you can always book a mid-week break instead.

March in the Lake District

While March is a quieter month in the Lake District, there’s still plenty of things to do. Main events include the Cumbria Life Home Garden Show, while elsewhere the Hawkshead Brewery open their doors to the public.

As to, do the many stately homes and gardens, as the Lake District starts to become a wash off colour. In fact, you’ll start to see daffodils and bluebells in abundance during your travels.

April in the Lake District

Everybody loves a long weekend, so what better way to spend the Easter bank holiday than at a spa hotel in Windermere. The outdoor hot tub and spa suites will come as a much-needed way to relax as we reach a 3rd of the way through the year.

Plus of course, there are many Easter activities with the likes of Muncaster Castle and the World of Beatrix Potter putting on special events.

May in the Lake District

During May in the Lake District, we get the chance for another 2 banks holiday breaks, as well as even more things to do in Cumbria.

The Keswick Mountain Festival runs from the 15th to the 17th May 2020, with everything from running and swimming to live music. The mountains also provide a sight to behold at the start of May too, for the Lakeland Festival of Light charity event.

June in the Lake District

With Spring coming to end, there’s just enough time to book in a Spring break before the start of Summer. It’s one that can either be nice and relaxing or provide a bit more of a challenge. As both the Coniston Marathon and Great North Swim take place at the beginning of the month.

The month of June also features one of the biggest traditional events to take place in Cumbria, the annual Cumberland show on 13th June 2020. The show has been running over 180 years and features arena displays, trade stands, farmers parading their prize livestock and much more.
