There are lots of things to do in the Lake District in July 2019. With many of the popular events taking place outdoors in the beautiful Cumbrian countryside.
Race for Life – 14th July 2019
If you’re looking for things to do in the Lake District in July 2019 and raise money for a worthwhile charity, then sign up soon. This nationwide event raises millions for Breast Cancer Research every year, with the Carlisle Race for Life being at the heart of Cumbria’s involvement.
Summer Beer Festival – 18th to 20th July 2019
Hawkshead Brewery opens its doors for its beer festival from 18th to 20th July 2019. Giving those of you after things to do in the Lake District a chance to sample the locally brewed ale. It’s not just Hawkshead Brewery that has beers available either, as they handpick other breweries from in and around the Lake District to join them.
Coniston Country Fair – 21st July 2019
When it comes to agricultural fairs and country shows, there’s plenty to choose from in the Lake District. One of the most popular being the annual event in Coniston. Take a walk down to the Lake from your spa suite in Windermere and jump on a ferry.
Enjoy a cruise across the water to nearby Coniston. You will then be able to join local farmers showcasing their livestock, along with a selection of market stalls and arena events.
Ambleside Sports – 25th July 2019
In keeping with other summer fairs and fetes in the Lake District, Ambleside Sports carry on traditions passed down generations. You are welcome to join the cross country running, or there are a number of other sports taking place. In particular, those more local to Cumbria such as Cumberland and Westmorland Wrestling, dating back over 200 years.
Kendal Calling – 25th to 28th July 2019
While the Lake District Summer Music Festival runs at the end of July into August, its focus is mainly on classical and jazz. However, the diversity on offer at Kendal Calling is much more in keeping with other major festivals across the country.
At this year’s Kendal Calling you get to see the likes of Welsh favourites Manic Street Preachers and Tom Jones. Elsewhere on the line-up are Nile Rogers and Chic, KT Tunstall, dance act Orbital and many more.
