May in Windermere

While May in Windermere is set to be quieter than usual, that doesn’t mean you can’t still book your holiday in the Lake District. Romantic spa breaks later in the year, planning a winter getaway or just an excuse for something to look forward to in 2021, treat yourself to a holiday in Windermere.

During May in the Lake District, Cumbria has an air of tranquillity, there tend to be less tourists than the heat of summer. As such, a time of year to embrace the outdoors, travelling through the countryside as the natural beauty of the Lakes comes into fruition.

The flowers start to fully open as Spring is in full swing, bluebells and tulips bring colour to the fields and with blossom falling from the trees. It’s also a time of year to see baby Herdwick lambs, as the new-borns skip through the green grass.
